What Cedar Sun does on a commercial construction project.
Our commercial work falls into two buckets: tenant improvements (TIs) for retail, office, and restaurant spaces, and small-to-medium ground-up commercial buildings under 10,000 square feet. We've built out retail storefronts, office suites, medical and dental offices, restaurant kitchens with full grease-trap and Type 1 hood installations, and warehouse-to-office conversions. Commercial work has its own permit and inspection rhythm — we handle the building department, fire department, health department (for food service), and ADA compliance review. Every project is bid line-item, scheduled by trade, and delivered with a punch list and final certificate of occupancy. We hold California CSLB License #1137507 (Class B General Building) which qualifies us for both residential and commercial.

Do you handle restaurant build-outs?
Yes. Restaurant TIs require coordination with the health department for grease traps, Type 1 hoods, and food prep surfaces, plus the fire marshal for suppression systems. We've built out several restaurants in Ventura County.
Are you bonded for commercial work?
Yes. Cedar Sun Construction carries a CSLB contractor's bond, general liability, and workers' comp adequate for commercial projects. Bond and insurance certificates are available on request.
How long does a typical retail tenant improvement take?
A 2,000 to 4,000 square foot retail TI typically runs 8 to 16 weeks from permit issuance to certificate of occupancy, depending on scope.
Can you handle ADA compliance upgrades?
Yes. Most commercial TIs trigger ADA path-of-travel and bathroom upgrades when over a certain valuation threshold. We design and build to current California Building Code Chapter 11B standards.
