Ventura is Cedar Sun's home market, from the historic downtown and pier-area cottages to the hillside homes above the 101 and the avocado parcels east of town.
About our work in Ventura
Why homeowners in Ventura choose Cedar Sun.
Ventura (officially the City of San Buenaventura) has a wide range of housing. 1920s and 30s craftsman and Spanish Revival cottages around the Pierpont and downtown. Mid-century ranches in the College area and Ventura Avenue corridor. Hillside homes in Hobson Heights, Ondulando, and Skyline. Newer tracts east in the Saticoy and Montalvo areas. We do whole-home remodels, ADUs (Ventura processes a high volume and we know the planners), full kitchen and bath renovations, second-story additions, and ground-up custom builds. The city has historic overlays in the Pierpont, Downtown, and Ventura Avenue corridor. We work within those, including the city's Historic Preservation Committee review when required.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Ventura construction.
Do you work on the Pierpont beach houses?
Yes. Pierpont and the lanes between Seaward and Mariposa Beach have a unique mix of 1920s cottages and modern infill. We do full remodels, additions, and the occasional teardown rebuild, all designed to handle the salt air and king tides.
How long does Ventura's permit review take?
Ventura's Building and Safety processes most residential permits in 6 to 10 weeks when plans are complete. Historic Preservation review adds 4 to 6 weeks for projects in the historic overlay. ADUs are typically faster (state-streamlined).
Do you work in the unincorporated areas around Ventura?
Yes. The unincorporated parcels in Saticoy, El Rio, and the avocado country east of Telegraph are under Ventura County Planning rather than the city. We handle that process the same way.
