About our work in Fillmore
Why homeowners in Fillmore choose Cedar Sun.
Fillmore has a different feel from the rest of Ventura County. Older agricultural town, working orchards, larger lots, and a Mission Revival downtown that sets the tone for new construction. We build ground-up ranch homes on five-acre and ten-acre parcels, add ADUs and farmworker housing where the zoning allows, and remodel the smaller bungalows in the historic core. Permits go through the City of Fillmore Building Division for in-town work and Ventura County Planning for the orchard parcels. Because Fillmore properties are often on septic and well water, we coordinate with septic engineers and well drillers up front so the project schedule reflects the real timeline.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Fillmore construction.
Do you build ADUs on agricultural parcels in Fillmore?
Yes. ADUs are allowed on most ag-zoned parcels under California state law, and we've built several in the orchards north and south of Highway 126. The permit goes through Ventura County Planning rather than the city for parcels outside the Fillmore city limits.
Can you handle septic and well coordination?
Absolutely. Most of the rural Fillmore parcels we work on are off the city water and sewer grid, so we bring in licensed septic engineers and well-drilling subs as part of our standard scope on those builds.
Do you do remodels in Fillmore's historic downtown?
Yes. The downtown core has historic-character guidelines, and we've remodeled several of the older bungalows and craftsman-style homes near Central Avenue while preserving period detail and meeting the city's design review.
