Cedar Sun has been working the Ojai Valley for years, from the East End ranches to the historic Arbolada, and out to Meiners Oaks and Mira Monte.
About our work in Ojai
Why homeowners in Ojai choose Cedar Sun.
Ojai is the most architecturally distinct city we work in. The Arbolada has 1920s craftsman and Spanish Colonial homes that need careful restoration. The East End has working ranches where additions need to feel like they were always there. Meiners Oaks and Mira Monte have a mix of mid-century cottages and modern infill. We respect the city's strict design review process. Ojai's Mission Design Preservation Board reviews almost every significant exterior change, and we plan accordingly. Most of our Ojai work is custom remodels, period-appropriate additions, ADUs in detached studio form, and ground-up builds on the larger East End parcels.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Ojai construction.
Do you handle Ojai's design-review process?
Yes. Ojai has one of the strictest design review processes in the county. Every significant exterior change goes through the city's design review board, and we've taken multiple projects through the process. We budget review timelines into the schedule from day one.
Can you do period-correct work on Arbolada homes?
Yes. The Arbolada's 1920s Spanish Colonial and craftsman homes are some of our favorite projects. We source matching plaster, period hardware, salvaged terracotta tile, and authentic detail to keep additions visually seamless.
Do you work outside Ojai city limits, in the East End or Meiners Oaks?
Yes. The East End, Meiners Oaks, Mira Monte, and Oak View are all part of unincorporated Ventura County, with permits going through the County Planning Division. We handle that process the same as the city work.
